furtnite Players have discovered that it is possible to camber onto the Rune and stand a top of it

just the one rune has been spotted across the Fortnite island – with its initial starting point appearing in the area of Paradise Palms and Lucky Landing. Players have seen the rune move towards Fatal Fields, coming close to the Pirate Camp in the area, and also towards Shifty Shafts.

It has all slowly inched its way forward over the map, with its final destination appearing to be Loot Lake.

In the recent update, Loot Lake received a drastic overhaul and now looks like the site for some sort of experiment – with a metallic seal and multiple government vehicles now residing where chests and loot had previously spawned.

What is the endgame for the rune?

It’s unknown just what the item will ultimately reveal. Some players have theorized that it is to tie into the crossover with Marvel’s Avengers, but that is unconfirmed – despite Epic Gameshinting at the possibility not too long ago.

It remains to be seen just exactly what unfolds, however, it does seem to point towards some sort of in-game event.

Epic v buck generator has been known to trigger massive in-game events after a few days, sometimes even weeks, or teasing and slowing putting pieces into place. With Loot Lake getting a change, and this rune moving towards that location, it seems pretty likely that something will happen there.

Standing on the rune

Players have discovered that it is possible to camber onto the Rune and stand a top of it. However, once the mysterious item begins a slight movement, anyone standing on top of the Rune will be sent skywards.

Building by the Rune

As players are able to do damage to the item, despite its ever-growing health bar, some players have tried their best to build around the Rune in a bid to keep it locked into place.

However, if the Rune moves into the path of a build it will ultimately destroy it. Seeing as it is possible to get on top of the moving object, if you’re trying to do so it’s probably best to go behind it and drop down – otherwise, you risk falling to your death.

So, there you have it, everything we know – so far – about the mysterious Rune that has appeared in Fortnite Battle Royale.

Common Fortnite scams use V-Bucks, baiting gamers with “V-Bucks generator

The video game, rated suitable for children ages 12 and over, has attracted gamers across the planet as well as clever scammers looking to take advantage.

While the objective of the game is to survive, Ford and law agencies want parents and their kids to also look out for schemes that could seem to be a part of the game that could drain their bank accounts.

The typical Fortnite con, according to AG Ford, involves the game’s virtual currency, “V-Bucks”, which can be used to purchase things like upgrades, outfits and the sensational in-game dance options.

While users can play the game for free, V-Bucks have helped generate $2.4 billion in revenue last year for the game.

RELATEDSTUDY: Nevada most targeted state for tax season scams

Common Fortnite scams use V-Bucks, baiting gamers with “V Buck generator” site links that offer coupons or codes for free V-Bucks, which usually cost the gamer his or her personal data or credit card billing information.

Many of these sites are difficult to spot as they look legitimate and mislead the user into purchasing things they’ll never receive or redirect the user to different sites which eventually require the user to share a code from their game account.

This gives scammers access to payment information.

Senior Deputy Attorney General Laura Tucker says, “Young users are more vulnerable. They may not be as aware that it is a scam. Kids want to get more V-Bucks so they can purchase characters and dances and things like that. So, the scam is badically exploiting that.”

Some of these scam sites trick the user into clicking ads which generate click revenue or download malware onto the user’s device.

Don’t be fooled by authentication emails, either, as this is only to maintain the appearance of legitimacy.

These emails are, in reality, phishing scams.

AG Ford gives the following tips to avoid these Fortnite scams:

  • Only use official websites for Fortnite like fortnite.com and epicgames.com for any purchases related to the game
  • Do not click links taking you to a third-party website
  • Never use V-Bucks generators
  • Never share personal information, data or account information online
  • Be creative and come up with a strong password
  • If available, use two-factor authentication
  • Never tell friends your login credentials
  • Avoid using debit cards for purchases as credit cards offer more security protections and are not links to accounts with a limited amount of money

Tucker says that the number of complaints from Fortnite users according to to Epic.com is around 53,000 per month.

Another way for parents to allow their kids to get extra perks without entering personal information is through gift cards.

This warning has parents in the valley area on alert and finding other ways for their kids to get extra game perks without entering their personal information.

“A lot of times, too, we buy the gift cards. That way it’s purchased on the gift card, and we don’t have to worry about putting our credit cards out there,” said Las Vegas parent Robbi Falcon.

If you think you’ve been victimized by a Fortnite scam, submit a details report on the Fortnite support page and contact your credit card company to dispute the charges.

Epic Games revealed a cryptic teaser with only the words: “Ruin is Coming

Epic Games revealed a cryptic teaser with only the words: “Ruin is Coming”, seemingly indicating one of the large-scale events that we haven’t had all that much information about this season so far. Turns out, things were going in a different direction: this is actually the Season 8 challenge skin, which you unlock by completing the Discovery challenge. Usually, we don’t see this skin until it shows up in datamines immediately before it’s available in-game, but I suppose Epic got tired of revealing it that way and wanted to give people something to work towards. Let’s check him out:

Ruin in Fortnite CREDIT: EPIC GAMES

He’s certainly continuing the fire theme that we started with the Prisoner skin last season, that’s for sure. He appears to have a sort of Game of Thrones vibe with his distinctly medieval armor, which isn’t all that surprising: Epic v buck generator likes to tie into major pop culture moments, if even in oblique ways.  At first, I was thinking that this could be a kind of Tier-5 of last season’s challenge skin, but it appears that Ruin is his own character, though what role he plays in the plot is yet to be determined. It’s possible that Ruin will be a progressive skin, like Prisoner was, but we have no indication of that so far. He seems like the guy that would sit on the fire throne in the Volcano.

It leaves us still wondering about the major events yet to come. There are still those dig sites popping up all over the map, and Dusty Divot appears poised to fill with lava. And there are still those dragon eggs quietly resting in the volcano. Ruin isn’t exactly that far away from a fire dragon motif, and so it’s possible he’s involved with them as well as a sort of father of dragons.

Traditionally the challenge skin brings about the next season in some way, shape or form: last season, the Prisoner visited a ritual site near Wailing Woods, the implication being that he raised the Volcano up from the earth. We assume Ruin will do the same, but it could still go in a million different directions. Stay tuned.

World Cup is going to be the biggest Fortnite tournament of the year

World Cup is going to be the biggest Fortnite tournament of the year, and Epic has announced how players can compete for their spots. The tournament will be open to any Fortnite v bucks generatorplayer. The only caveat is that you have to make it through the rigorous qualifying process.

The World Cup qualifiers start on April 13 and will continue for 10 weeks. The first week will focus on Solo competition and the second week will be Duos, with the two modes alternating after that.

The qualifying process starts with Arena Mode, a new queue that goes live with patch v8.20. There’s no set schedule for the mode so players can earn points whenever they want. When players reach the top of Arena Mode, they’ll qualify for World Cup Online Open tournaments, which will happen every weekend.

Each weekend will kick off with the Online Open Semi-Finals on Saturday. These will happen over the course of three-hour windows that shift with each server region. Players will have all three hours to play 10 matches and attempt to earn as many points as possible. The top 3,000 players in each region will then advance to the Online Open Finals which happen on Sunday.

During the Open Finals every players’ score will reset and they’ll once again have three hours to play 10 matches. The top finishers will receive a portion of the $1 million prize pool and a few select players will earn a qualification spot for the World Cup in New York City on July 26-28.

Epic v buck generator also offered a breakdown of how many players from each week of the competition will get to advance to the World Cup from each region:

Drew McCoy, executive producer of Apex

Respawn designers originally developed a battle-royale mode for Titanfall 2, but chose not to release it, according to Drew McCoy, executive producer of Apex. Like many in the industry two summers ago, Respawn designers were caught up in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the first widely successful battle-royale game, and developed an every-man-for-himself prototype of Apex.

“It was a really cool new genre that was burgeoning, and we asked, ‘Can we help define it and move it forward and not have it be a flash-in-the-pan game mode,’” McCoy said.

Respawn kept its work on Apex a secret. With the release of the game last month, Electronic Arts paid a number of well-known
fortnite free v bucks generator players, such Tyler Blevins, screen name Ninja, to stream their matches on Twitch and other sites. Since then, Respawn has been battling players who use unauthorized software to cheat in the game, using it to improve their aim, for example. Respawn has kicked off more than 355,000 players and is including ways to quickly report cheating in the newest version of the title.

All of which underscores that a free-to-play game can take as much effort as a traditional one.

“We’ve spent as much time on this as we did on other games, it was actually larger than any previous build,” McCoy said. “We didn’t treat this like a low-cost game.”

Colorful History

Respawn has a colorful history of its own. It was started by Vince Zampella and Jason West, two co-founders of Infinity Ward, a studio owned by Activision Blizzard Inc. and the one responsible for that company’s hit shooting game Call of Duty.

Zampella and West were fired by Activision in a dispute and sued, seeking damages of as much as $1 billion. The parties ultimately settled in 2012 for an undisclosed amount. West has since left Respawn.

Respawn, with 300 employees, still works on traditional console titles — Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be out later this year. The success of Apex gives the studio a new level of energy, according to Zampella.

“I think what it signals for us is, in the changing world of games and pricing structures, that we can do something different than what we’ve been done in the past,” he said. “It’s a great thing for the team and morale here.”

Sony turned on cross-play as an opt-in beta for Fortnite on the PS4 last fall, but the latest v8.10 patch

Players will still technically have to opt in to agree to play against players on the opposite console. But Epic Games isn’t really leaving players much of a choice: the ones who don’topt in will be limited to just Creative Mode and Playgrounds.PLAYERS WHO DON’T OPT IN WILL BE LIMITED TO JUST CREATIVE MODE AND PLAYGROUNDS

Along with the grouping of Xbox One and PS4 players in the same matchmaking pool, the Nintendo Switch — which had previously been placed in the same group as the other fortnite v bucks generator consoles — is getting bumped down to the mobile pool. That means Switch players will be placed in games against iOS and Android users by default now. Epic says it combined those player groups to provide “an on-average better per-game experience for both Mobile and Switch players.”

On a broader level, Epic says that the newly merged Xbox One / PS4 and mobile / Switch pools are for optimizing purposes, which will allow it to “run more playlists during more hours of the day while supporting more data center locations.”

Also new in the patch is a “Baller” vehicle, a hamster ball-like single-seat vehicle that includes an attached grapple that will let players have some new traversal options as they make their way across the map.

NVIDIA have provided statistics which appear to prove that having higher FPS in games like Fortnite and PUBG

Does having higher frames per second (FPS) and refresh rate really make a major improvement on your performance in shooter games?

Well, of course that’s what NVIDIA, the biggest graphics card manufacturers, would want you to believe, but now, they have provided the evidence to support this claim.

NVIDIA’s top of the range card, the RTX 2080 Ti, will set you back well over $1,000, but its performance truly is unrivalled by just about any other card on the market.

But is all that money worth in terms of gameplay performance? According to NVIDIA’s own research, players using an RTX 20 series card (2070, 2080 and 2080 Ti), and enjoying the FPS boost it grants, have, on average, a 53% higher K/D ratio in Fortnite and PUBG, than players using the low end GTX 600 series card.

TRUSTED REVIEWSThe improvement in K/D appears to correlate directly with the superior graphics card.

Simply owning a better graphics card won’t instantly make you better at a game though, and NVIDIA recognizes this.

So, as a further test, NVIDIA have added the amount of time spent practicing into the equation, with the number of hours per week paired with the graphics card being used, and the results still show big advantages with the superior hardware.

TRUSTED REVIEWSEven with practice time in the equation, the better graphics card will still have an advantage.

Finally, fortnite v bucks generator the effect of pairing a superior graphics card with a higher refresh rate monitor was also tested. Having a card capable of 144 FPS isn’t worth much if you are running it on a 60Hz monitor.

Running a 240Hz monitor might be overkill for many, especially given the much higher price they demand, but pairing a powerful graphics card with a 144Hz monitor is probably the best price-to-performance deal.

TRUSTED REVIEWSHaving a superior monitor refresh rate is also important.

For aspiring competitive battle royale players, it will be in your interest to at least maintain 144 FPS, which, depending on quality settings, should be possible with most mid to high range GPU’s.

Although there are improvements with the RTX 20 series cards, the GTX 1070 or 1080 should also be capable of reaching 144 FPS, although the quality settings may need turned down more.

Not long after discovering this bug, Rockstar Games patched the exploit

Late last month, players discovered an interesting bug in GTA Online involving Lester. In GTA Online, players can pay a fee to call Lester and request an airplane. If this fails for whatever reason, the money is refunded to the player. Fans figured out that if they did a few things while making this request, they could trigger an exploit that would cause the refund to keep being sent to them for as long as they wanted.

According to GTA data miner Tezfun2, the bug worked by breaking Lester’s scripting. Players would park in a car inside a hangar at the airport located in Southern San Andreas. They would then call Lester while hitting the gas pedal at the same time. Doing this near a plane spawn location, which there is one located in the hanger, caused the game to start giving players $2000 every few seconds. As long as players stayed in the area and didn’t leave that session, the money would keep coming.

This quickly became a popular way to make a lot of cash. Players shared photos of sessions where everyone was hanging out at the hanger, making money and chilling.

Lester became a beloved hero in the GTA community. Fans began sharing memesand stories about how much they loved the hacker turned money gifting saintand his money hangar.

Not long after discovering this bug, Rockstar Games patched the exploit. The patch, as Tezfun2 explained to me, fixed this bug by changing how corrupted data works in GTA Online. The game would now clear this data faster, making the money loop impossible. Or so Rockstar thought. Quickly after the patch, players discovered a new way to get the money train rolling again.

Using a Mobile Operations Center, players could block two spawn locations and then call Lester. This would cause the planes to be unable to spawn, thus resulting in a refund and the money exploit was back in action.

This didn’t last long. On Thursday, Feb 28, 2019, Rockstar made another change to GTA Online to stop the Lester bug. This one was more simple and seems to have fully stopped the bug. They removed the cost of locating a plane. So there is no money to refund, thus no more money for Lester to give. The community mourned the end of Lester’s gift.

What is interesting about this particular bug is that according to Tezfun2, this isn’t a new bug. Technically this bug has been possible in GTA 5 APK Online for years. It was only recently discovered and shared with the community. He believes that there are other similar bugs waiting to be found in GTA Online.

if you are trying to get V-bucks outside of that ecosystem you are probably going to get scammed

Players do not have to pay to jump into the battle royale mode of “Fortnite,” an aspect of the online game that has helped it become a phenomenon. But publisher Epic Games constantly adds new costumes, or “skins,” and character animations called “emotes” that players can purchase to accessorize their game. The company also posts warnings in the game about not sharing your login information.

“I would say there is a pretty good chance that if you are trying to get V-bucks outside of that ecosystem you are probably going to get scammed,” said Sierra Filucci, editorial director at Common Sense Media, where she tracks parental issues for games and multimedia.

A massive player audience of more than 200 million – across multiple platforms including smartphones, computers, and game systems such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and most recently, Nintendo Switch – and its young demographic makes “Fortnite” a target for criminals. Epic sells official V-bucks and upgrades free v bucks no verification within the game, as does Microsoft and Sony within its Xbox Live and PlayStation Network online game services.

But other unofficial vendors can be found on social media, on websites and in chat sessions on the popular Twitch streaming service, where you can watch seasoned players compete. These unauthorized sellers bring with them an element of danger, cybersecurity experts say.

“Buying V-bucks outside the official stores doesn’t necessarily mean the user will get scammed,” said Benjamin Preminger,  cyber-threat intelligence specialist with Sixgill, a cybersecurity firm in Netanya, Israel. “A more serious side of it is that you’re potentially party to a crime,” such as buying a stolen account or unknowingly contributing to money laundering, he said.

The amount of risk of being ensnared in other scams depends on the type of scam, Preminger said. “The damage to the victim could be anything from a simple case of losing access to your ‘Fortnite’ account to the criminal use of any credit cards attached to the account to commit carding fraud,” he said.

It’s not unusual that “Fortnite,” launched in September 2017, would draw a criminal element. The game is a cash-generating enterprise that produced as much as $3 billion in profit last year for privately-held publisher Epic Games, as reported recently by TechCrunch.
